Aircastle joins Rattling Stick

We are pleased to announce the signing of Canadian directing duo, Aircastle for representation in the US & UK. Breaking into the commercial world with Catvertising, Aircastle has quickly carved out a distinctive voice in comedy. Since meeting in York University’s Film Production program, Will and Jamie’s creative partnership has already outlasted most marriages. Along the way they’ve accumulated numerous accolades at Cannes, the One Show Film Festival, the Webby Awards, the Clios, and the D&AD’s to name a few. The duo also shares a couple’s phone plan, and when necessary live in confined spaces together.

Ringan came 2nd in the Top 10 Directors’ poll this year, with his work for Nike ‘The Switch’ and Audi ‘Duel’ also featuring in the Top 10 commercials lists. Thanks to all our peers for your votes, which have consistently put us in the Top 10 for the last decade.

The Porsche International Student Advertising Awards 2016

The National Film and Television School is teaming up with German film school, Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg to host the annual Porsche International Student Advertising Film Awards in London this month. The event is aimed at developing new talent and offers film students a prestigious platform upon which to present their work to the industry and establish contacts. The awards invited a host of prestigious advertising professionals to judge the awards, including our very own First Lady, Katie Keith.

Anyone attending a film school around the world or young professionals with less than three years industry experience can enter and each winner will receive a sum of money, which references the iconic Porsche 911. First prize in each category is €3,911; second prize is €2,911; and the third prize is €1,911. All winning films will be available on the Shots site.

The event will take place at the Picturehouse Central in London on the 17th November 2016 and is the first year that the awards, which are sponsored by Porsche AG, will be held in London. The annual event has previously taken place at the Filmakademie’s home in Ludwigsburg, Germany and has been running for twelve years.

Shots Awards 2016

Last week we saw the industry gather for the 2016 Shots Awards at The Brewery in East London. Ivan’s The Times & Sunday Times ‘Heart of the Story’ took home a Silver whilst Ringan’s Nike ‘The Switch’, Jeff Nichol’s P&G ‘Strong’ and Sara’s Mr Burberry ‘The Departure’ were all awarded Bronze awards. Thanks to Shots for another great ‘do’.

Ciclope 2016 Winners announced!

Congratulations to Daniel Kleinman, whose title sequence for ‘Spectre’ was awarded Gold and to Sara Dunlop, who took home a Gold and Silver for Mr Burberry ‘The Departure’ for Writing and Direction. Other winners include Ringan’s Audi ‘Duel’, his promo for Massive Attack’s ‘Voodoo in My Blood’ and Sara’s powerful Barnardo’s ‘Believe in Me’.

UKMVAs 2016 Shortlist Announced.

The UKMVAs have announced their shortlist and Ringan’s Massive Attack ‘Voodoo in my Blood’ features heavily.

The music video, which is currently In Competition at Raindance,  has been shortlisted  for:

Best Alternative Video – UK
Best Choreography in a Video
Best Editing in a Video
Best VFX in a Video
Massive Attack are also shortlisted for Best Video Artist and James Hackett has been shortlisted for Commissioner of the Year

Jeff Nichols’ ‘Loving’ to hit cinemas in November

Jeff Nichols’ highly anticipated feature, ‘Loving’, is set to hit cinemas this November. The film, based on a true story and starring Joel Edgerton and Ruth Negga, was In Competition at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and is tipped for success at the Oscars in February. ‘Loving’ tells the story of an interracial couple’s fight to have their marriage recognised in Virginia in the 1950’s and their legal battle to change the law in their home state.

Cannes Lions 2016

Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity saw Ringan pick up 2 Silvers, one for his Massive Attack ‘Voodoo in My Blood’ music video and one for his Sainsbury’s ‘Christmas is for sharing’ ad. Pete also won a Silver and a Bronze for his Wrigley’s ’Sarah and Juan’ commercial. Jeff Nichols was awarded a Bronze for his new P&G ‘Strong’ ad, his first foray into the commercials world.
